What’s Your Fantasy?

LH, Guys on the Sideline Contributor

Many fantasies are coming to fruition right before our eyes. Pre-season football has finally arrived, HBO’s Hard Knocks has premiered, and late nights of fantasy football mock drafts are in full force.

How many mock drafts is too many mock drafts?

If you’re a degenerate, then the answer is never enough. If you are an amateur wanting to stick it to your strange work friends, win $20, or be able to talk some shit to your closest friends, then you might want to do a few of them.

I don’t want to mock, I just want to dominate.

If you think mock drafts are below you or claim to not have enough time to do things that make you happy, then luckily there is a secret sauce to winning your league. You can let the experts bend your ear on strategy, positive touchdown regression, or which “sleepers” are climbing up their draft boards. Or, you can just follow these few steps.

“THE” Secret Sauce

1 – Wait on QB. You think you might be getting a discount on Mr. DoubleCheck Rogers in the 4th round. But you could also pick up Philip Rivers at the end of the draft and end up with a similar points-per-game output from your QB. By doing so, you’ll be getting a much better WR or RB option for your roster with your 4th round pick.

2 – Draft as many rookie RB’s as you can. There is no way to value the rookies without ever playing an NFL snap. Yet year after year they win leagues by taking over their respective backfields. (See Leonard Fournette, Kareem Hunt, or Alvin Kamara from last year alone.)

3 – Be a Waiver Wire Whore. – Someone who wasn’t drafted will win someone a league championship, just like every year. Pick up as many injury replacements, backups, or high upside players as you can throughout the season. When one of them hits, just hope they are on your team.

If you can’t win your league with this secret sauce, then DO MORE MOCKS!
